I grew up on a small ranch in Montana, went to graduate school in Ohio, flew for many years in Oklahoma, and am now located in Houston, TX. 

I've been interested in aviation for as long as I can remember. My grandfather and father both had a pilot's license, and one of my long-standing goals in life was to eventually learn to fly as well. Although early in my adult life I was focused on a career as a college educator, everything changed when I eventually did have the opportunity to pursue flight training for myself. At that point, I became fully committed to aviation education, quickly working my way up as an instructor at Riverside Flight Center in Tulsa, the first Part 141 flight school in the US to gain examining authority across all its courses. I spent years there as Assistant Chief Instructor, conducting many stage checks and end of course tests for Private, Instrument, and Commercial certification in much the same way that a DPE conducts checkrides.
